Finally long queues are over for buying a Reliance Jio sim card. As per Several reports on 28th Dec-2016, e-commerce giant Snapdeal will soon start home delivery of Reliance Jio sim cards with ‘Happy New Year Offer‘ under which all Jio phone calls, SMS, data and premium services are free till 31st March 2017. NDTV gadgets 360, Firstpost and many other news portals reported that some users have received e-mails from the company regarding the offer. As per the reports, users who have been offered free SIMs will not have to bear any costs associated with delivery expenses, the only pre-condition will be a valid local Aadhar Card.
You will have to register for a new Jio 4G sim on Snapdeal and input your area name and prferred time slot to receive the sim card. Then you will receive the confirmation SMS with a code. A Jio representative will arrive at your home during the time-slot that you specified during the registration to deliver the Jio sim. You will have to show your Aadhar card and the code received by SMS to the Jio representative and he will immediately activate your new Jio SIM. This offer comes right at the time when Reliance is trying to ensure that the ‘Happy New Year Offer’ presented by Mukesh Ambani remains free until 31 March 2017 despite pressure from rival telecom operators.
Reliance Jio is already running a pilot programme to deliver its SIM cards to customers’ homes. Jio Facebook Campaign is being rolled out area-wise in Delhi NCR, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Chandigarh, Chennai, Kolkata, Mumbai, Pune, and Visakhapatnam. Reliance is offering to deliver Jio SIM cards to customers’ homes within 30 minutes as part of this programme.
Interestingly, Snapdeal recently launched its ‘[email protected]’ service to cash in on demonetisation as well. The service allows customers to order cash and have it delivered to them at their doorstep. Snapdeal is calling the new service as a goodwill gesture to users, allowing for easier access to cash without the hassle of queuing up at banks or ATMs.
